Earn Tings Ltd ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Bahamas Data Protection Act 2003.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
Phone number
Required for authentication and survey notifications
GPS location
Collected at signup and survey completion for location verification and fraud prevention
Name
First name used for personalisation within the app
Demographics
Age bracket, gender, island, income range, employment status, education level, and other profile data you choose to provide
Survey responses
Your answers to research surveys, stored securely
Device info
Browser type, operating system, and session data for fraud prevention and platform improvement
2. How We Use Your Data
  • Survey matching: Your demographic profile is used to identify surveys you qualify for based on research criteria.
  • Anonymised aggregation: Your survey responses are combined with others to produce statistical insights for research clients.
  • Fraud prevention: GPS data, response timing, and device information are used to detect and prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Platform improvement: Aggregated usage data helps us improve the platform and survey experience.
  • Notifications: Your phone number is used to notify you of available surveys via SMS or WhatsApp.
3. Who Sees Your Data
Research clients never see your personal information.
Clients receive only anonymised, aggregated results — statistics and percentages. They never receive your name, phone number, GPS coordinates, or any data that could identify you individually.
Our employees may access your data only when necessary to operate and support the platform, under strict confidentiality obligations.
4. GPS Location Data
Location is collected at two points: during signup (to verify you are in The Bahamas) and when you submit a survey response (for ongoing fraud prevention). GPS coordinates are used solely for location verification — to confirm responses originate from within The Bahamas — and for fraud detection. They are never shared with research clients or used for any other purpose. GPS data is deleted when you delete your account.
5. Data Retention
  • Survey responses: Retained indefinitely in anonymised form for research integrity.
  • Personal data: Deleted or anonymised when you delete your account.
  • Points history: Transaction records retained for 7 years for financial compliance.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
Supabase
Database and authentication infrastructure (EU-hosted, SOC 2 compliant)
Twilio
SMS and WhatsApp notification delivery
Amazon / Visa
Reward voucher fulfilment (your email address only)
Each service processes only the minimum data necessary for its function and is bound by appropriate data processing agreements.
7. Your Rights
Under the Bahamas Data Protection Act 2003, you have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data via your Profile page
  • Delete your account and personal data via the Settings page
  • Object to processing for marketing purposes

8. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only. We conduct regular security reviews and follow industry best practices for data security.
9. Compliance
This policy is prepared in accordance with the Bahamas Data Protection Act 2003. If you believe your data rights have been violated, you may contact the relevant Bahamian data protection authority.
